Bell Racing Sets the Benchmark with New FIA 8859-2024 Homologation Standard

Racing Force Group's Bell Racing Continues its Tradition of Innovation in Motorsport Helmets

Bell Racing has become the first in the industry to obtain the new FIA 8859-2024 homologation for racing helmets.

Bell Racing has a storied history of pioneering advancements in helmet technology. Since its inception in 1954, the brand has consistently introduced cutting-edge solutions that enhance protection, comfort, and performance for drivers. Over its 70-year history, Bell has been at the forefront of helmet innovation, being the first to introduce an energy-absorbing liner system, a full-face helmet, a fire-retardant helmet, an aerodynamically shaped helmet, an anti-fog shield, and in 2019, the first to homologate an FIA 8860-certified helmet, which is currently the mandatory standard in Formula 1.

The latest achievement, obtaining the prestigious PH001 homologation number, underscores Bell Racing's commitment to innovation. This milestone was made possible through the relentless efforts of the research and development department at Bell's headquarters in Sakhir, located adjacent to the Bahrain International Circuit, home of the Formula 1 Grand Prix. The new FIA 8859-2024 standard will bring updates across Bell Racing's range of MAG open-face helmets, catering to rally, circuit, and powerboat racing.
